Volunteering

We have many parents, grandparents and community members who willingly volunteer to help out in some way at the school. With volunteer support we are able to implement more effective programs in classrooms. Volunteers can assist with art and craft, reading groups and other classroom activities. Please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher to see how you can help.  The P&C also appreciates support to run the Snack Shack; and other events such as mothers’ and fathers’ day stalls, and discos. Volunteers have a huge impact on teachers, students and the whole school community. All volunteers are required to report to the office to sign in and obtain a badge upon arrival; and to sign out when they leave the school. Volunteers must also sign our Code of Conduct, Student Protection and Confidentiality Agreement for Volunteers prior to volunteering at the school.

If you are considering volunteering, remember: A little bit of time goes a long way. Whether you have a little bit of time or a lot, your support helps. Going into a classroom and being an extra set of hands does make a difference.

Building relationships.

Working in classrooms not only allows the opportunity to build deeper relationships with teachers, it also helps parents to get to know other parents and people in the community.

It is rewarding.

Volunteering is one of the most rewarding things you can do. Some days will leave you with a sense of accomplishment and other days may be challenging but rest assured being a volunteer will make you feel good and valued.

Everyone has something to offer.

Volunteers may work with groups of students and help them in reading groups, they may assist the teacher in getting homework and readers sent home, they may be artistic and work with others to create murals. There is always some way that volunteers can help in a school.
