School grounds and classrooms

Classrooms and Learning Areas 

Petrie offers a variety of formal and informal learning spaces. Classroom designs include both traditional and flexible learning spaces. All classrooms are air-conditioned, thanks to our P&C, and all have interactive whiteboards and data projectors.

We have a large multipurpose hall, equipped with a kitchen, that is used for assemblies, physical education classes and a variety of other activities. We also have a mini-hall used for Music and performing arts activities such as Dance and Drama.

There is a large undercover play and eating area, and several other smaller undercover eating areas.

Grounds and Play Areas

Petrie boasts a quiet bush setting. Our grounds are leafy and sprawling, with plenty of trees and shade, and frequent koala visitors. 

We have multiple play areas, including 4 areas with climbing and adventure play structures. There are two ovals which are used for sporting and athletic activities. We also have a multipurpose court that can be used as a basketball or tennis court.
